The setting

265 acres on the western shore

Resonance Ranch sits on the western shore of Groundhog Lake — the largest body of water in Dolores County — with the community holding more than 1.3 miles of shoreline. The land rises over 300 feet from water to ridgeline, opening spectacular views in every direction. Established in 2023 as a private, sustainable, multigenerational homestead community, it lies roughly halfway between Telluride and Dolores, beneath some of the darkest night skies in the lower 48. This is an active, proven community — not raw, speculative land.

Groundhog Lake

The lake is the heart of it all

The largest body of water in Dolores County and the centerpiece of the community — a quality fishery where fish grow exceptionally well thanks to an abundant crawfish food source, and regular stocking by Colorado Parks & Wildlife.

Beyond fishing: stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, canoeing and boating on a calm high-mountain lake made for all ages — and ice fishing when winter sets in.

A Colorado fishing license and State Wildlife Area pass are required for anglers 16 and older. Kids under 16 fish free.

A true mountain climate

Warm, storm-washed summers; golden aspen falls; deep-snow winters; and a crisp, green spring. The North American Monsoon rolls dramatic afternoon thunderstorms across the peaks from July into September — then clears to brilliant evenings.
